“Rag Doll Oracles” is an ongoing series of accidental portraits, painted predominately with rolling pins and acrylic paint on paper, 2018.
I refer to these works as accidental portraits because what's perceived to be a human face has been created through the predominately random application of black paint with rolling pins.
The human brain is programed to find and recognize faces. In fact, we're so good at recognizing animal or human-like faces that we often see them in unexpected places, like the face of jesus on a slice of burnt toast or Mickey Mouse in a pile of rocks. “Pareidolia” is the science that endeavors to explain why we see faces in random everyday objects.
"Beware of Bob"
All my Original Artworks are created with high quality fine art Acrylic paints and mediums. I prefer Golden’s Fine art acrylic paints because they will not fade or discolor when displayed in typical interior environments. However all painted works are best kept out of sustained direct sunlight to avoid damage to the paint layers.
